Ali Tavakoli
Ali Tavakoli was born in Tehran, Iran, in 1988. He received a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Cinema from Sourah University in Tehran. He previously made the short film “Bruised”, selected in several international film festivals. “Purchasing officer” is his second short-film.
Director statement
I have been interested in films for many years and I have always been trying to tell stories about human and debatable subjects in the form of short films, because for me, short films are a place to share words. And the feeling and communication with the audience is through creativity and also experience. The most important challenge and attraction in making this film has been experiencing the non-linear narrative and using montage to reach a coherent whole.
